It is what it is. It's a cheaper bookshelf.The black poles, which I thought were of some metal material was actually plastic which made it feel cheaper. But from a room distance, you can't really tell they are plastic.There were minor scuff marks on the wood.Pretty easy to assemble.

This is the first time I've ever given a bad review for anything I've purchased on Amazon. Don't waste your money on this product. You can buy something just a good (really better) at Wal-Mart for less money. I did. When I got the shelves, I wasn't pleased with the craftmanship. I didn't expect top notch for this price, but it still didn't meet my expectations. Then on top of that, some of the pieces were missing. I have since purchased a set of shelves from Wal-Mart that are sturdier, and better looking for about $10 less. I'm truly sorry to give a bad review, but I just can't recommend this product. Amazon was however, wonderful in working out my issue. Thank you Amazon.

The product overall ok and looks the same as on picture, the only problem I experience is that it is unstable on the carpet.
